Welcome to Saint Petersburg Bird Control: Prevention and Removal of Unwanted Birds

Our company specializes in resolving problems caused by birds in Saint Petersburg, Florida, both residential and commerical. We handle bird species such as pigeons, starlings, grackles, sparros, and even Canada Geese and woodpeckers. We generally don't kill birds - we prevent them from causing problems. Most commonly, this means that we install barriers that prevent them access to your building or property, or anti-roosting devices that prevent them from landing, nesting, or roosting on your home, store, building, or anywhere. We use netting, needle strips, shock track, and more. We do offer trapping in some cases, and removal of birds from warehouses, grocery stores, or other commerical or industrial buildings by netting or sometimes pellet shooting. We have a wide variety of tools and methods for solving every manner of bird problem. Call us at 727-220-5094 to discuss your bird problem today.

Bird Fogging

There are many different means that people use to try to keep birds away from their home. This is a rather daunting task to be honest with you. Because there are so many birds in the area where you live, and because they can fly away from any kind of danger that they may encounter, it makes it quite a challenge to apply different forms or techniques that can successfully keep these animals from approaching your property. In fact, it can be downright impossible it seems.

Many have come up with what they believe to be our great ideas to be able to successfully accomplish this. Some have turned to decoy animals, such as owls, in an attempt to try to scare off other birds. There are those who have bought inhibitors that they place in perching and landing spots so that the birds cannot find a comfortable and safe place to be able to land. These can be effective as well, but they can also be expensive and take a lot of your time to set up.

This leads many to wonder if there's a more scientific way that they can successfully be able to keep birds away.

We live in a very scientific and technological world so this would only seem natural. There's a bug repellent that companies have produced to keep away such things as mosquitoes and gnats. So why would there be a kind of repellent like that could scare away birds and keep them from approaching your property? It would seem to be something that some company would be working on.

Fortunately, there is one product out there that seems to be having a rather significant effect on keeping birds away. That is the fogging bird of repellent.

For those of you who are completely unfamiliar with this idea and it wouldn't be surprising if there are many of you who are unfamiliar with it, bird fogging can be quite effective. This is a repellent system that is dispersed into the air causing past birds that are flying near where the repellent has been released to avoid the fog. It doesn't matter whether they try to fly above it, underneath it, or to the side of it, the way that this is dispersed can have a significant effect in keeping birds away.

Before going any further, it is important to recognize one aspect about the fogging technique. This is really not intended to keep one or two birds away from your property. It's intended to stop a whole flock or colony from heading toward your home, property, or business.

If you have ever noticed birds flying, they always do so in a group. If you are really seeing one heard, you're really seeing them alone. There are usually at least seven or eight others with it. This is where the fogging is most effective.

As the lead bird comes in contact with the fogging agent it automatically shifts its direction to avoid the agent itself. The other birds follow behind it. Before you know it they are all leaving the location where you dispersed the fog. The agent stays in the air for at least a few hours making it so that the birds will stay away and not come toward the direction where the repellent was released.

Another way that this can be used is for those that have problems with birds getting into their barns. You can go into the barn and release the fogging agent throughout the structure. This will cause the birds to fly away as quickly as possible to avoid the effects of the repellent. This can be a very effective tool.

Why this is not as effective on a single bird is because the lead bird's primary job in a flock is to take a route that protects the whole group. If that bird comes in contact with the repellent that it will do everything it can to protect the rest of the other birds that are flying with it. This frequently means a rather sudden turn away from your property to get away from it. That may not be the track that a single bird would take. It may look for an improvised flight plan to continue on its pathway, in this could still lead it to try to get onto your property. It's kind of the unfortunate aspect of bird behavior.

If you may be reading this and thinking that this sounds incredible. It's the solution you belong waiting for. However, your concern is what this will mean for the health of you, your family, and your pets.

That is a very good question, but you can be sure that this is a perfectly safe repellent to use that will not have any ill effects on you, your family, or your pets. This has been thoroughly tested by the US Food Chemical Codes and has been found to have no kind of effect that's dangerous for humans. In fact, it's not even dangerous to the birds. It's just something that they don't like and so they will do what they can to avoid it. It won't harm them in any way so you don't have to feel like you are doing something that is inhumane to these animals.

The one thing you should know is that these repellents don't come cheap. Most come in at a little less than $200, but they do work well, so it can be worth it in the long run.
